Approach
Ms. Miller works with each client with understanding and acceptance, to help build on their strengths and personal qualities. She is dedicated to an open, approachable attitude to help clients improve their overall well-being.
She believes that people innately know what they need in order to heal. She provides a safe space of warmth, compassion, and acceptance. She adopts a holistic approach to therapy, and works from several different treatment modalities depending on the issues being addressed. Ms. Miller will work with you to help you gain awareness of old patterns of thinking that no longer serve you- patterns and habits we all have. This process can help you cope with difficult situations, and/or to make improvements in your life and relationships.
Her background
Ms. Miller is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional. She received her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Chapman University in 2001; she received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Western Washington University in 1998. Ms. Miller obtained her Chemical Dependency training through Northwest Indian College. She has completed weekend one and two of EMDR training.
Ms. Miller is experienced in working with individuals, couples and families along with families that have special needs members. She has also worked in group counseling settings, facilitating different types of groups. Having practiced in a variety of scenarios (home based services, private office, schools, correctional institutions, out-patient services, etc.) has allowed her to become versatile and effective in meeting a variety of therapeutic needs.
